Compliance is reactive. Until it's on the record.

Employment Equity, B-BBEE, SETA, CCMA, I-9, ACA, EEO-1, POPIA, GDPR. Every filing built from exports, every grievance in an inbox, every audit a reconstruction. October puts the statutory suites for South Africa and the United States on the employee record, runs Speak Up and ER cases with chain-integrity audit trails, and shows you the risk score before the regulator does.

The compliance realityWhere the risk hides

Small issues.
Expensive problems.

Four ways compliance and employee relations go wrong, and what each one costs.

01

Filings built from exports

EE reports, B-BBEE scorecards, WSP and ATR submissions, I-9 and EEO-1 assembled from spreadsheets every year, with the source data out of date before the deadline.

  • Manual filings
  • Stale source data
02

Grievances in inboxes

Complaints arrive by email, sit with a manager and escalate to the CCMA or litigation because nobody tracked the timeline. The anonymous line exists, but nobody trusts it.

  • No case timeline
  • Speak Up not trusted
03

Policies nobody signed

The code of conduct changed and half the company never acknowledged it. When it matters, in a dispute or an audit, there is no proof anyone read it.

  • No acknowledgement trail
  • No proof at dispute
04

Audits without an audit trail

Who changed what, when and why lives across systems and memories. Every audit becomes a reconstruction, and every reconstruction has gaps.

Statutory suites built in.
Every action logged.

Compliance generated from the live record instead of assembled from exports, with the cases and the evidence beside it.

01

SA and US statutory suites

Employment Equity, B-BBEE, SETA and CCMA on one side; I-9, ACA and EEO-1 on the other. Generated from the live employee record, with deadlines tracked and gaps flagged before they become findings.

  • Generated, not assembled
  • Deadlines tracked
02

Speak Up and ER cases

Anonymous or named reporting with the reporter's identity protected, triage by severity, investigation timelines, outcomes and lessons recorded on the case, and the reporter updated at every step.

  • Anonymous, protected
  • Triage to resolution
03

Policies and acknowledgements

Publish, version and chase acknowledgements automatically. Every signature sits on the employee record with a timestamp, so the proof exists before anyone needs it.

  • Versioned policies
  • Automatic chasing
04

Risk score and audit trail

A live compliance health score with risk indicators by area, frameworks mapped, and an audit log with chain integrity for every change and decision on the record.

  • Live risk score
  • Chain integrity

October for compliance & employee relations · FAQ5 answers

Questions,
answered.

Which jurisdictions are covered?

South Africa (Employment Equity, B-BBEE, SETA, CCMA, POPIA) and the United States (I-9, ACA, EEO-1) are built in, with GDPR-aligned data handling throughout. Frameworks are mapped in the compliance dashboard, and additional jurisdictions are added on the roadmap.

Is Speak Up genuinely anonymous?

Yes. Reporters can stay anonymous end to end, their identity is protected from the case handlers, and they receive updates through a secure channel without revealing who they are.

Can auditors and regulators get access?

Yes. Scoped, time-limited access with its own audit trail. The chain-integrity log shows every change and decision, who made it and why, so an audit is a report rather than a reconstruction.

How does the risk score work?

It reads the live record: filings due, acknowledgements outstanding, open cases by severity, documentation gaps and framework coverage. Each indicator links to the action that resolves it.

Can we run compliance stand-alone?

Yes. Compliance & Employee Relations works powerfully on its own. Connected to Core HR, onboarding and policies, every filing and case reads the same current people data.
